Terms of service

Last updated 14 July 2026.

These terms govern your use of getlastcopy.com. By creating an account or sending a check-in you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What getlastcopy.com is, and is not

getlastcopy.com is a monitoring service. It watches whether your backup jobs run, learns what a normal run looks like, and keeps a record of your integrity checks and restore drills. It does not store your backups and it is not a backup service. Testing and keeping your backups is your responsibility. getlastcopy.com is a second pair of eyes, not a substitute for verifying your backups yourself, and you should not rely on it as your only line of defence.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. Each backup has a ping URL that acts as a secret key, so anyone who has it can send check-ins as you. Keep it private and rotate it from the backup's page if it ever leaks.

Acceptable use

Use getlastcopy.com only for lawful purposes. Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, do not send check-ins for accounts that are not yours, and stay within the published rate limits. We may suspend or close an account that puts the service or other users at risk.

Plans and payment

getlastcopy.com is free during beta, and there will always be a free plan. Paid plans and their prices are shown on the pricing page. When paid billing is introduced these terms will be updated to cover it, and we will give notice before charging anyone.

Availability

We work to keep getlastcopy.com running and monitorable, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption, particularly during beta. When we take the service down for maintenance or suffer an outage we record it, and those windows appear in your evidence report as disclosed gaps rather than as monitoring failures.

No warranty

getlastcopy.com is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that monitoring will be uninterrupted, that every alert will fire, or that the service will be free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, getlastcopy.com is not liable for any loss of data, backup failure, missed or late alert, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. You remain responsible for your own backups and their testing. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which is nil while you are on a free plan. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you are a consumer your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending your account

You can stop using getlastcopy.com and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. If getlastcopy.com ever closes as a service, you will get months of notice, not weeks, and your evidence register will stay exportable as CSV until the last day.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change is material we will note it here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use getlastcopy.com after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your own country.
